Mobile app development for Android and iOS

At Usatek we design and develop custom mobile apps for Android and iOS. We handle the whole cycle: the idea, the design, the development, publishing on Google Play and the App Store, and the app's evolution after launch.

We also publish and maintain our own apps on both stores, such as ColorClick and our exam preparation apps, so we know first-hand what it takes for an app to get approved and run well on very different devices.

  • Push notifications, usage analytics and, if your model needs it, monetisation.
  • Maintenance, updates and new features.

Native or cross-platform app?

It is one of the first decisions in any project. A cross-platform app shares most of its code between Android and iOS: it takes less effort to build and maintain, and it is the most common choice for business apps, catalogs and booking apps.

A native app is built separately for each system. It makes sense when performance is critical or the app depends on very specific device features, such as heavy camera or graphics processing.

During the analysis phase we explain which approach best fits your budget, timeline and users. If you want to come prepared, read our guide native app, cross-platform or PWA: which to choose.

How we build your app

  1. AnalysisWe define the goals, the users and the must-have features of the first version.
  2. DesignWe create a screen prototype and validate it with you before writing code.
  3. DevelopmentWe build in phases, with test versions you can install on your phone.
  4. LaunchWe upload the app to Google Play and the App Store and support the launch.
  5. Continuous improvementWe measure real usage and keep improving the app with new versions.

We can add generative artificial intelligence to your app without relying on another provider.

App development: frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to develop an app?

The price depends mainly on the scope: how many screens and features it has, whether it needs its own server (backend), payments or integrations with your systems, and whether it is published on Android, iOS or both. After a first meeting we send you a detailed proposal with a quote and a phased timeline.

How long does it take to develop an app?

A simple app can be ready in a few weeks; a project with a backend, payments or integrations usually takes several months. We work in phases with regular releases, so you can test the app from the start and launch a first version sooner.

Is a native or a cross-platform app better?

A cross-platform app shares most of its code between Android and iOS, so it is usually faster and cheaper to build and maintain. A native app makes the most of each system and is the right choice when performance or access to very specific device features is critical. We recommend the right option for your case.

Do you publish the app on Google Play and the App Store?

Yes. We prepare the store listings, screenshots and copy, handle the Google and Apple review process and fix any issues. Because we publish and maintain our own apps on both stores, we know their requirements well.

Can you maintain and update an app that is already published?

Yes. Apps need to keep up with every new version of Android and iOS and with store policy changes. We can take care of updates, bug fixes and new features.
